HOW STEPHEN SEES HIMSELF
Stephen is meticulous and painstaking in his attention to
detail. He will conscientiously complete all his tasks. Stephen is agreeable
and charming and also has a strong work ethic. Stephen is prepared to go the extra
mile in order to satisfy his need to oblige. Stephen likes to be well prepared
and wants to know the reasons behind situations. Stephen is perceived by others
as reliable, practical and he gets jobs done. He is capable of managing a broad
portfolio of tasks, but is more comfortable with familiar jobs.
His drive comes from within and he tends to evaluate situations
through his five senses. He is an introspective thinker and makes sense of
things by evaluating solid facts. Hard-working, committed and resolute, Stephen
has a high work ethic and will feel comfortable in an environment where he can
get on unobtrusively with his work. He likes clear rules and regulations so
that he knows exactly what is expected, how to do it and who to report to.
He prefers to have clear objectives and a structured plan with
set procedures and time-frames which he can check off as he goes. He works best
with tasks that involve people and create a co-operative, generous and supportive
environment. Stephen sets his goals and then works to achieve them in an organized,
planned and efficient way. He does not trust fast, flashy and fanciful ideas.
He respects and sticks to established rules and procedures and he may consider
that there is always something left to finish.
He is gifted at collating data and technical detail and is a
skilled analyst. He is more relaxed with people who take an interest in him and
are prepared to spend time on understanding the "real" him. He needs
to promote his own skills and abilities, otherwise he could be ignored. He
likes to feel that what he does makes a difference to things he cares about,
and when that happens he is prone towards perfectionism. He can become absorbed
by all the minutiae and still remain focused on the current task. Stephen is
regarded as an upstanding and responsible individual. He is trusted and
respected as someone who will fulfill his obligations.
He prefers quiet recognition of his contribution. He tends to be
very conventional and likes to maintain the status quo. He is likeable, neat
and tidy and welcomes expressions of appreciation from others. He may find it
easier to work with people who are steady and consistent.
He does not care to lead from the front, and instead is happy to
support backstage. He connects with people who need help, and can build
long-lasting relationships with people who he believes he can support. He values
his family life above most things and needs to have plenty of close contact and
time with them. He is not an authoritarian type leader but prefers to create a
harmonious environment. It would help if he was more articulate about his wants
and needs, rather than dwelling on lost opportunities. He prefers to demonstrate
his true feelings with actions rather than verbally.
His commitment and willing contribution of objective opinions
makes him a loyal and supportive team player. He is not likely to involve
people who he believes are overlooking the reality of situations. He does not
like being involved in office politics and distrusts hierarchy and
empire-building mentality. He will shun opportunities that will put him in the
limelight or where he is the centre of attention.
Stephen cares passionately about things and will demonstrate
this by his sense of responsibility which makes him an extremely loyal and trusted
colleague and employee. His natural concern for the welfare of others makes him
particularly aware of the needs of individuals. He doesn't always wish to show
how he feels. He will stick to company guidelines and procedures and becomes
frustrated and intolerant with people who do not toe the line. If he believes
that he is being pushed too hard, he may become awkward and stubborn.
He will use the group to gain a consensus of agreement. He has
great ability to solve problems and achieve outcomes by using his own past
experiences. Stephen's pragmatic style and acceptance of the status quo makes
him a reliable and consistent colleague. He will be supportive of his friends,
but prefers not to be put in a position where his principles and values could
be compromised. He makes decisions that are suitable, fair and practical.
Stephen likes to collect facts and see what comes out of them.
He comes to long term solutions after a period of deep thinking.
Stephen is highly practical and uses his five senses to form his opinions and
make decisions. He can see what is needed at any one time and handle it. He is
able to see what is needed in a situation and respond appropriately.
He may give the wrong impression because he prefers not to speak
out. He does not like to agree to high risk decisions. Evidence from case
histories and guarantees may influence his judgment.
He is reserved and may hold back from making decisions because
he needs to gather all background information before taking action. He may
appear to reject decisions made on pure instinct rather than logical
evaluation.
